Dollar Sales

July 1, 2012 By Robin Simon 4 Comments

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Amount of product sold at retail expressed in dollars.  Unit Sales x Avg Price/Unit = Dollar Sales.  EQ Sales x Avg Price/EQ = Dollar Sales.  Most often used by Sales and Finance, also by Marketing.  Good for comparing across categories since dollars are common to everything sold in the store.

Unit Sales and Units are the same, also sometimes called Package Sales. This is the thing that a shopper buys – so a can, a box, etc. See this post which explains how this is different than Volume or Equivalized Volume.
